Livia Firth on Susurrus

We’re thrilled that international champion of sustainable fashion Livia Firth has given our pillowcases a glowing review. Livia is the founder and Creative director of sustainability consultancy, Eco-Age, and also an Oxfam Global Ambassador and a UN Leader of Change. But even so, she took the time to make a short video about Susurrus.  Livia’s film about Susurrus  What our happy customers saygots-logo_rgb

Susurrus (noun): A low, hushed sound; a whisper or murmur; like the sea drifting over the sand, or the soft sigh of silk against your skin.

We bought pillowcases for the whole family and have been enjoying their amazing softness. It feels like you’re sleeping in a fancy hotel, even though you’re just at home in your bed!
A truly worthwhile gift for yourself, family or friends.

The company says, “they’re only pillowcases and they won’t change your life”, but I’m not so sure. Most of us spend a third of our lives in bed, and the quality of the remaining two thirds relies heavily on how good that experience was.

To lay your cheek against organic silk is to put a smile on your face and inside your mind. There’s the knowledge you’ve bought something that’s fair to the producer and fair to the environment. But then you’re also having your brow caressed as you sleep by this most miraculous of substances – cool when the climate’s hot, warm when it’s cold, tough but always soft and snag-free no matter how rough your stubble.

I love my silk pillowcase. It’s a little taste of luxury. I travel with it, I have it on my feather pillow at home and I sleep the deep, untroubled Sleep of the Just… except when I’m dreaming of Audrey Hepburn in silk pyjamas.

I bought two of these, one to keep for myself and another to give away – I loved them so much that I kept both! I have also bought one for my dad and my aunt, both of whom were facing long periods of (bed) recuperation after operations. They adore them as much as I do.

The pillows are so cool on the face, none of this turning the pillow over every 10 minutes. They are well worth the price; as a gift to myself it was a way of showing self-care and self-love, and it felt lovely to honour those that I love by investing in something that would help them to feel emotionally and physically better during and after difficult times.

I honestly can’t recommend these pillows highly enough. (oh, and Karen (Susurrus) is lovely too!)

I just received my pillowcase today as a gift and I am wholly 100% in love with it. It will be perfect for my chemo induced hot flushes!!! So thrilled and feeling truly special! Thank you

Wow just had my first two nights with these magical pillowcases and had the best sleep ever. I cannot recommend them highly enough who knew that something so simple could bring restful relaxed nights to someone who for years has had relentless broken and disturbed sleep! Spread the word!
